Merry Christmas

If you're working, you're not the only one, just remember to keep the eyes in the back of your head wide open, especially at the seasonally festive domestics.

If you're not working then well done for convincing duties to let you have a life.

And for those readers who aren't in the job, thanks for visiting and contributing to my blog, I'll let you know next week how my joyous Christmas was spent as my crystal isn't working at the mo.

From me, to you, have a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year, I hope it's a safe one!

As a 'special' MCM I can obviously choose my duties. But I do know all about working this time of year having done 28 yrs in the navy.

I truly would love to be out on Christmas Eve (mad or sad??) but 'er indoors would definitely go ballistic!

Everyone keep safe...and as the old saying goes, 'don't let the bastards grind you down'. By 'bastards' in this context I mean in no particular order, the drunks/scum/SMT/permanent 9-5ers/'strategic advisors' or whatever other non-job you can think of!

Merry Christmas.

'Convincing duties to let you have a life'?

Don't you mean well done on scoring an office job?

Shall we have a quick poll to see how many here can point to ONE office-waller working Christmas Day, Boxing Day, NYE or 1st January?

Can't wait for tomorrow! Op Blunt all night. Oh well - maybe we'll get off a bit early.

Merry Christmas Mr MCM and best wishes to your family and all your readers.

Keep up the good work even when it isn't popular. You are the good guys.

There used to be a pub where on special nights such as Christmas Eve and New Years Eve all the twats would gather and fight it out while leaving the rest of the city fairly calm.
Everyone knew the score and non-twats avoided that pub; the Police looked on content to prevent the mayhem spreading from the large public car park onto the adjoining main road and junction.

About 10 years ago someone decided that this would not do and swamped the place with Officers. After two or three years the twats got the message. Result = violence and thuggery rampant all over the city center during the Festive Season.

Thank you for your blog, Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

For the first time in many years I don't have to work Xmas Eve and/or Xmas Day. I had to retire to get them off after 35 yrs as a dispatcher for a small town (single manned comm center) police dept.

I feel your pain.

I would like to say I've been magnanimous and let the young ones have the day off to be with their kids, but I wasn't given a choice.

Up at the crack tomorrow and nights for Hogmanay!

I think I'll leave off buying a lottery ticket.

Thank you for the hard work you do for us, the MOPs. I am sorry you haven't got Christmas off. I just hope it's a quiet day for you and everyone else having to work today.

Have a happy and peaceful time over the festive season.

Thanks for the comments and merry Christmas again!

Once I've got over the jetlag of nights I'll finish the post about my fun Christmas. Actually it wasn't fun, it was rubbish thanks to a minority of people who refuse to grasp the concept of "grow up and fuck off" even (or especially?) at Christmas.

Thankfully I've got new year off so have some time to chill and have a belated Christmas dinner and present opening, if you are working for any of the emergency services or A&E's then you have my sympathy!

If you're not working then believe me when I tell you that staying in is the new going out!!

Honest, I'm a Policeman!!

I've always felt that on New years eve you could pretty much drop a bomb on the town centre and not lose a cure for cancer given the general type out and pissed...

Best of luck over it, and i hope you managed to get some time off!

What about all the CID that have to work as well, do they count as office dwellers?

Itg will be easy to see the office dwellers working these days. It is double time, the aid list comes into their offices first, get the pick of the cushy shifts.

Must say on my BOCU, offie staff are all restricted duties and not allowed out on the street

All the best to you also.
